Leigh Ju Jitsu, based at the Leigh Self Defence studio, in Leigh, Lancashire, are celebrating the Grand Relaunch of their gym at 4.30pm on Friday 27th September 2013, after a generous grant from DHL allowed the club to be refurbished with new training mats, striking ‘Bob’ dummies, as well as new toilet facilities.
Attending the relaunch will be Leigh MP Andy Burnham and Sir Tony Hawkhead CBE, Chief Executive of Groundwork, as well as the staff of DHL who’ve generously donated their time to help with the refit.
Both the adult and children Ju Jitsu students, led by chief instructor Sensei Alan Francis (5th Dan black belt), will showcase their skills during the afternoon relaunch with demos. Guests will also be given a history of Ju-Jitsu by two of the club’s students before the cutting of the grand re-opening ribbon.
Leigh Ju Jitsu teaches men, women and children, from ages 5+, self defence techniques, from throws to submissions, locks and striking, in a safe and friendly environment.
